Cinnamon Rolls

This recipe is for a 9 x 9 inch pan and makes 12 rolls.

Ingredients for bread

  • 1 cup water (225grams)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups bread flour (400 grams)
  • 1/4 cup sugar (45 grams)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons instant dry yeast

Ingredients for filling

  • 1/3 cup sugar (70 grams)
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts, (80 grams)
  • 1/2 cup raisins (80 grams optional)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Ingredients for glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar (115 grams)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons milk

Directions:

  1. Line the baking pan (9x9 inch) with a parchment paper.
  2. Mix all the ingredients for bread and put it in a bread machine. Set it for "dough". Let it knead and rise in a machine.
  3. Meantime combine in a small bowl:
    • 1/3 cup sugar (70 grams)
    • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  4. In another bowl combine the glaze ingredients:
    • 1 cup powdered sugar (115 grams)
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1 to 2 tablespoons milk
  5. Sprinkle flour where the dough is going to be rolled.
  6. When the first rise is completed, take the dough out of the bread machine and roll the dough into a 9 x 18 inch rectangle.
  7. Spread melted butter over the dough and sprinkle the filling evenly, top with raisins and chopped walnuts (if desired).
  8. Carefully roll the dough into a log and pinch the edges to seal the roll.
  9. Slice the log (roll) into 12 equal-sized pieces.
  10. Arrange dough pieces in a greased 9 x 9 x 2 inch (23 x 23 x 5 cm) baking pan. Cover the dough with an oiled plastic sheet and let it rise in a warm place until the size is nearly double, about 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  11. Spray lightly. Bake in a 375°F (190°C) oven for 25 to 30 minutes or till light brown.
  12. Pour the glaze over the hot rolls.
