Sour Cream Coffee Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 2 cups sifted cake flour
  • 1 cups sour cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

Topping Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts
  • 2 tbsp each brown and white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Cream butter, shortening and sugar.
  2. Add eggs, sour cream and vanilla.
  3. Beat well add gradually sifted flour, baking powder, and soda.
  4. Place half of batter in a greased 9" tube springform pan.
  5. Sprinkle half of topping mixture and cover with remaining dough. Sprinkle the rest of the topping mixture.
  6. Bake at 350 for 1 hour or until cake is done.
  7. Sprinkle powdered sugar.
