This recipe is for a 9 x 9 inch pan and makes 12 rolls.
Ingredients for bread
- 1 cup water (225grams)
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 egg
- 3 cups bread flour (400 grams)
- 1/4
cup sugar (45 grams)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons instant dry yeast
Ingredients
for filling
- 1/3 cup sugar (70 grams)
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 3/4 cup chopped walnuts, (80 grams)
- 1/2 cup raisins (80 grams optional)
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
Ingredients for glaze
- 1 cup powdered sugar (115 grams)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 to 2 tablespoons milk
Directions:
- Line the baking pan (9x9 inch) with a parchment paper.
- Mix all the ingredients for bread and put it in a bread machine.
Set it for "dough". Let it knead and rise in a machine.
- Meantime combine in a small bowl:
- 1/3 cup sugar (70 grams)
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- In another bowl combine the glaze ingredients:
- 1 cup powdered sugar (115 grams)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 to 2 tablespoons
milk
- Sprinkle flour where the dough is going to be rolled.
- When the first rise is completed, take the dough
out of the bread machine and roll the dough into a 9 x 18 inch
rectangle.
- Spread melted butter over the dough and sprinkle
the filling evenly, top with raisins and chopped walnuts (if desired).
- Carefully roll the dough into a log and pinch the
edges to seal the roll.
- Slice the log (roll) into 12 equal-sized pieces.
- Arrange dough pieces in a greased 9 x 9 x 2 inch
(23 x 23 x 5 cm) baking pan. Cover the dough with an oiled plastic
sheet and let it rise in a warm place until the size is nearly double, about 45
minutes to 1 hour.
- Spray lightly. Bake in a 375°F (190°C) oven for 25 to 30 minutes or till light brown.
- Pour the glaze over the hot rolls.
